Community Support Services

Supervised Residential

The SR Program offers housing to adults who live with chronic and persistent mental illnesses. This program offers a support system of 24/7 care. Emphasis is placed on providing a therapeutic environment, with education and supervision of medication management, nutrition, daily living skills and recreational activites. Additionally, residents work closely with Residential Case Managers to identify strengths as well as weaknesses, as it refers to housing needs and placements. Residential CMs also assist the resident in advocacy endeavors with regards to medical intervention and housing placement. The employees are dedicated to the preservation of dignity and respect of each individual resident and their path to recovery.

 

Transitional Housing

Transitional Housing offers housing to adults with a mental illness and who find themselves homeless. Programmatic goals are to re-educate the resident and to provide assistance and guidance towards recovery. The Transitional Coordinator provides direct assistance 40 hours per week. Participation in activities support groups/programs, vocational and/or educational pursuits is an expectation. The ultimate goal is to assist the resident towards successful independent living.

 

Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services

The PSR Program is a recovery education program which provides an innovative alternative to therapy by using education as the intervention to promote and sustain recovery. Individuals in the program regard each other as students, as opposed to patients. With the development of healthier self esteem, members begin to see life goals related to education, employment, housing, social support and leisure as attainable.

Opportunites include classes that prepare students to get a Graduate Equivalent Diploma, training in computer competency, and assistance with life skills and recreation activities.

The heart of the program lies in the active participation of members who are involved in all levels of the daily operation.

PSR serves TennCare consumers age 18 and over with a mental illness. There is no charge for the program and TennCare transportation can be arranged. Meals are provided.

 

Case Management

Case Management services are designed to help manage mental health care, encourage independence in the community, and help prevent inpatient hospitalization.

Ridgeview Case Management enpowers one to increase self-reliance, responsibility, and work towards self-maintenance.

Case Management services work together with local community agencies, state agenices, and the members network to ensure effective coordination of all available resources.

 

Peer Support Centers

The Peer Support Center is a safe, friendly place where consumers of mental health services can gather to make friends and enjoy recreational and educational opportunites planned by the consumers themselves.

Three primary goals of the Peer Support Centers are as follows:

1) To provide a place to socialize in a safe environment

2) To give mental health consumers ways to learn about their illness and encourage recovery in a friendly atmosphere.

3) To give members emotional support.

The Peer Support Centers are open to all mental health consumers and have no membership fee. Membership and transportation are free, with transportation provided to the centers and to all activities.
